Covington Promotes 13 to Partner

WASHINGTON—Covington has promoted 13 lawyers to its partnership.

The new partners, who are based in Brussels, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, are:
Isaac Chaput (San Francisco): Isaac handles complex class actions and commercial litigation, with experience in intellectual property, product liability, antitrust, breach of contract, and other commercial matters. They work with clients across a range of industries, particularly technology and life sciences. They are active in the leadership of Covington’s LGBTQ+ Affinity Group and deeply involved in the firm’s efforts to recruit and mentor diverse attorneys. Isaac earned their B.A. from St. Olaf College and their J.D. from Washington University School of Law.
Daniel Cho (Washington): Daniel represents clients in high-stakes intellectual property litigation before U.S. district courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the U.S. International Trade Commission. He has litigated complex patent cases involving a broad array of technology areas, including OLED/LCD technologies, pharmaceutical products, medical devices, sensors, and casino games. He also has experience advising life sciences clients on pre-litigation and regulatory issues arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act. Daniel earned his B.S. from Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
Julie Dohm (Washington): Julie focuses on regulatory matters for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. She handles a wide range of drug-related matters at the intersection of law, policy, and science. Prior to joining the firm, Julie served as the lead on compounding for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and in the FDA's Office of Chief Counsel. She received her B.A. from The University of Chicago, her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Alexis Dyschkant (Washington): Alexis represents policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes and civil litigation in federal and state courts involving a wide variety of underlying claims and losses, including PFAS claims, environmental liabilities, mass tort claims, cyber claims, breach of privacy and technology-based claims, and first-party property damage/business interruption. Alexis earned her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Illinois and J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Priscilla Fasoro (New York): Priscilla represents clients on a wide variety of complex commercial transactions, specializing in those involving technology, intellectual property and data. Her practice focuses on negotiating outsourcing and other technology-driven agreements, including services agreements for both service providers and customers, licensing agreements for both licensors and licensees, and counseling clients in connection with major marketing promotions and sponsorships. In addition to her technology practice, Priscilla has significant experience representing U.S. and international clients in a broad range of general corporate and strategic matters. Priscilla earned her B.A. from Rutgers and her J.D. from Cornell Law School.
Drew Fischer (Washington): Drew's practice focuses on a broad range of M&A transactions, including public and private mergers, asset and stock acquisitions and divestures, carve-out acquisitions and divestitures and cross-border M&A transactions. Drew represents clients in a range of industries, including in the life sciences, health care, manufacturing and industrial, defense, government contracting and technology industries. He received his B.S. from the University of Maryland and his J.D. at The George Washington University Law School.
Gregory Halperin (New York): Greg is a trial lawyer with particular expertise representing clients in the life sciences industry in complex product liability and mass tort litigation. As a member of eight trial teams, he has experience crafting opening statements and closing arguments, and examining key fact and expert witnesses. He is skilled in all stages of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and drafting Daubert and dispositive motions. He has argued numerous motions in state and federal court. Greg joined Covington following a clerkship with the Honorable Paul V. Niemeyer on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Prior to his clerkship, he received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Duke University.
Jeremy Hutcher (New York): Jeremy specializes in structuring and negotiating innovative and complex commercial transactions involving the use of software, technology, intellectual property and data. He works with clients on a variety of cutting-edge product development and commercialization matters, collaborations and strategic alliances, including joint venture, distribution, information technology procurement and outsourcing arrangements. He received his A.B. from Washington University in St. Louis and his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Tarek Khanachet (Dubai and New York): Tarek advises clients on a broad range of complex international regulatory, policy and transactional matters focused on the Gulf States and the broader Middle East. He leads Covington’s regional sovereign advisory work, advising seats of government and ministries on policy reform, regulatory infrastructure development, economic diversification programs, and FDI. Tarek has extensive experience representing multinationals on regional government engagement, legislative and regulatory advocacy, compliance, and government contracting across highly regulated sectors, including technology, life sciences, food & beverage, and defense. He received his A.B. from Brown University, a M.A. from the University College London, Institute of Archaeology, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Nooree Lee (Washington): Nooree represents government contractors and financial sponsors in all aspects of the procurement process and focuses his practice on the regulatory aspects of M&A activity as well as foreign military sales and other international contracting matters. He has advised on 30+ successful M&A deals involving government contractors totaling over $30 billion in combined value, and has advised both U.S. and ex-U.S. companies in connection with defense sales to numerous foreign defense ministries, including those of Australia, Israel, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. Nooree received his B.A. from Duke University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Clovis Trevino (Washington): Clovis represents clients in the resolution of high-stakes, cutting-edge disputes before international courts and tribunals. Her practice focuses on public international law and international commercial and investment arbitration across a broad range of industries (including energy and natural resources, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, technology, and consumer goods). She also serves as counsel in arbitration-related litigation. Clovis is an adjunct professor of law at the George Washington University Law School and is a frequent lecturer and author on topics related to arbitration and international law. She received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, and an LL.M from the Graduate Institute of International Development Studies.
Jennifer Uren (New York): Jennifer advises private investment funds, private equity firms and private and public companies in a variety of finance transactions, including direct, club and syndicated financings, many of which involve cross-border components. She also has experience in acquisition financing, second lien financing, asset-based facilities, debt capital market transactions, the monetization of pharmaceutical royalty streams, and synthetic royalty financing transactions. She received her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and her J.D. from Cornell Law School.
Sibel Yilmaz (Brussels): Sibel advises on all aspects of competition law, foreign investment and foreign subsidies screening, with a focus on the life sciences, technology and private equity sectors. She has particular expertise in the life sciences sector and has been involved in some of the industry's most high profile matters in recent years. In the technology space, Sibel advises a range of clients including content creators and gaming companies. She also regularly assists financial investors with navigating the complex regulatory environment in which they operate.
