WASHINGTON—Covington has been recognized for its work on Advent International and British Columbia Investment’s $6.4B acquisition of Maxar Technologies, a geospatial intelligence company, which has been named “Private Equity Deal of the Year” at the 2024 International Financial Law Review Americas Awards.

Covington advised Advent International, one of the largest and most experienced global private equity investors, on various aspects of the deal, including Government Contracts, FDI, CFIUS, trade, trade controls, communications regulatory and certain commercial contract diligence.

IFLR’s Americas Awards focus on innovation in cross-border transactions, with a spotlight on deals that break new legal ground, set precedent, and bring clarity to, or develop, the legal environment for cross-border corporate finance.
