NEW YORK/PALO ALTO/SAN FRANCISCO/WASHINGTON— Covington advised Salesforce in connection with its definitive agreement to acquire Rune Technologies, an edge-native technology provider building solutions to enable critical logistics and sustainment operations for the U.S. military and allied nations.
Rune Technologies’s technology helps frontline teams forecast supply needs, optimize resources, and make mission-critical decisions, including in denied, degraded, intermittent, or limited connectivity environments. The technology connects information from enterprise systems with real-time operational data to help military logisticians and commanders respond faster and maintain mission readiness.
The acquisition will broaden Salesforce’s Missionforce portfolio with purpose-built super intelligence capabilities for logistics at the tactical edge. Rune Technologies will help connect frontline supply and movement needs with the workflows that support them, improving resource coordination, operational visibility, field service, and asset management.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
The Covington team was led by Brad Chernin, John Fisher, Tomas Rua, Devony Schmidt, and Jim O’Connell.
