LONDON—Global Data Review has named Covington to the top of its inaugural ranked edition of GDR 100's Global Elite.
The editorial team noted Covington's "world-leading advisory practice and solid investigations and litigation work", highlighted the firm's "footprint in each of the world’s major data jurisdictions" and made a point of mentioning that Covington is "one of few Elite firms to have made major headway in South Africa".
Other highlights according to Global Data Review include "a team of transactional lawyers specialising in helping companies acquire and monetise all types of data, making the overall data practice more rounded than most", as well as the fact that the firm’s practice is "arguably equally as strong in the US as it is in Europe - a truly rare feat that few others can boast".
The editorial team make a special mention of the firm's client list, "featuring a host of the world’s most prominent data-rich technology companies, trade associations that are the voice of global tech and many other blue-chip clients operating across more traditional industries – with a particular global strength in life sciences."
"We are thrilled to be ranked first in the GDR 100 Global Elite 2023, recognizing Covington for having one of the most cutting-edge privacy and data security practices globally,” the firm’s practice co-heads Dan Cooper, David Fagan and Lindsey Tonsager said. “We are thankful for our clients who trust us with their most important matters and our remarkable team of privacy and cyber lawyers working across the firm's 13 offices, and really appreciate GDR awarding us this exciting accolade."
The new rankings are available as part of the GDR 100 2023.
