Covington Announced as a Deal of the Year Winner at IFLR1000 United States Awards

WASHINGTON—Covington was recognized as a Deal of the Year winner in the Capital Markets category at the inaugural IFLR1000 United States Awards, in connection with its work as co-issuer’s counsel on Uber Technologies’ U.S. IPO on the New York Stock Exchange.

Covington served as Uber’s co-counsel on its $8.1 billion initial public offering of 180,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $45.00 per share, which at the time was the third largest tech and the ninth largest IPO to date.

The Covington corporate team consisted of Kerry Burke, Brian Rosenzweig, Stephanie Bignon, Reid Hooper, Anna Abramson, Jenny Park, and Brianna Bloodgood, with assistance from Brad Chernin and Will Woolston, and Brady McDaniel (employee benefits).

The awards celebrate the most innovative U.S. deals and the best-performing law firms and lawyers across the states in 2019 and recognize where firms and lawyers performed exceptionally both locally and nationally. The awards shortlists are the culmination of seven months' research, analyzing hundreds of submissions, surveying thousands of referees, and interviewing hundreds of lawyers.
