LOS ANGELES—Bet Tzedek, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit legal services organizations, honored Dan Shallman with the Luis Lainer Founder’s Award at its 2026 Annual Dinner Gala. The award recognizes leaders whose commitment to justice, service, and community reflects Bet Tzedek’s mission of ensuring equal access to justice for all.
Dan is managing partner of Covington’s Los Angeles office and a nationally recognized white collar defense lawyer. A former Assistant U.S. Attorney, he represents companies, independent board committees, senior corporate executives, and high‑ranking government officials in sensitive government and internal investigations. He is also deeply committed to pro bono service and, throughout his career, has led efforts advancing civil rights, criminal justice reform, and legal protections for vulnerable communities across California.
