Pentagon halts enforcing vaccine mandate for contractors following injunction

Fred Levy spoke with Politico about the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the vaccine mandate among defense contractors and the Pentagon. Following a recent injunction by a federal judge, the Pentagon instated a temporary halted enforcement for federal contractors to provide proof of vaccination.

Fred shared his insight, “Right now, the overarching question is what’s going to happen with these injunctions? [Because] right now, [the mandate is] not really being enforced against anybody.”

Fred elaborated, sharing that it would be helpful for the government to provide clarity about the vaccine mandate rule in case the injunction is lifted. Specifically, if a company has a manufacturing contract but is also providing engineering or other services, is the contract exempt if the deal is primarily for manufacturing?
