Energy Transition Deal of the Year – Solar – PIF4 Solar PV Projects, Saudi Arabia
Covington advised ACWA Power on the funding for the development and operation of the Haden, Muwayh and Al Khushaybi solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. The projects have a total investment value of $3.2 billion and aim to generate a combined capacity of 5.5 GW of solar energy for Saudi Arabia. The Covington team was led by Agnieszka Klich and included Shalom Mwale.
Power & Transmission Deal of the Year – TAIBA-1 and QASSIM-1 IPPs, Saudi Arabia
Covington advised a sponsor consortium led by Aljomaih Energy & Water Company (JENWA) on the development and financing of 2 combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plants in Saudi Arabia –Taiba-2 and Qassim-2, developed by Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC), Saudi Arabia. The Covington team was led by Agnieszka Klich and included Richard Oliver and Karolina Reiter with support from Georgia Ling.

Advised the consortium of Miahona, Marafiq and Besix in connection with the development and financing of the Al-Haer Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP) project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Covington team was led by Agnieszka Klich and included Karolina Reiter, Laure Berthelot, Alessando Angelico, and Azumah Cofie.
Water Deal of the Year, Desalination – Hassyan Independent Water Project, Saudi Arabia
Covington advised Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power in connection with the financing of the Hassyan independent water project (IWP), the world’s largest renewable energy-powered reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant. The Covington team was led by Agnieszka Klich and included Rhulani Nkomo, Jecolia Horn, Samya Idi, Azumah Cofie, Nitin Banerjee and Georgia Ling.
