NEW YORK—Latinvex has named Nicole Duclos, Miguel López Forastier, and Veronica Yepez among Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers. The 13th annual ranking is a selection of the leading lawyers from international law firms involved in the legal business in Latin America.
Nicole leads the firm’s Latin America Initiative. She represents clients in international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as transnational litigation. Her experience spans construction, energy, mining, agroindustry, and finance, among other industries. Nicole also sits regularly as arbitrator. This is the ninth year she has been named to the list.
Miguel co-chairs Covington’s International Arbitration and Global Problem Solving practices. Miguel’s practice focuses on international arbitration and litigation. He has successfully represented a wide range of clients, including those in the oil and gas, mining, biotech, pharmaceutical, communications, financial services, and food industries in both investor-State and commercial arbitrations. Both civil-law and common-law trained, Miguel handles contentious work in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He also sits as arbitrator.
Veronica leads Covington’s anti-corruption and investigations practice in Latin America. She is an experienced white-collar lawyer who routinely conducts cross-border investigations and represents both corporate and individual clients before U.S. criminal and civil enforcement authorities. In addition to her investigations practice, Veronica advises multinational companies on compliance with anti-corruption laws, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). As a tri-lingual lawyer, she leverages her deep understanding of local business cultures in Latin America and her on-the-ground experience to help clients navigate complex cross-border compliance issues.
