Firm Also Received Commendation in the Corporate-Commercial Team of the Year Category
DUBAI—Covington has been named Banking & Finance Team of the Year at the annual LexisNexis Middle East Legal Awards 2026. In addition, the firm has received commendation in the Corporate-Commercial Team of the Year category.
Covington had further been shortlisted in the Energy & Infrastructure Team of the Year and Technology, Media & Telecoms Team of the Year categories, with Dubai-based white collar and litigation associate Maryam Chauhan having been nominated in the Senior Associate of the Year category, demonstrating the breadth of the firm’s offering in the Gulf region.
Covington’s nomination that led to the firm’s win in the Banking & Finance Team of the Year category was based on the team’s role in advising the lenders on the financing of the 1,000 MW Al Masa’a (MAS) and the 400 MW Al Henakiyah 2 (AHK2) solar power projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – one of the largest solar PV project financings to close in the Middle East in 2025. The Covington team was led by Marc Norman with Christoph Schulz leading on finance aspects of the deal.
The firm’s Corporate-Commercial Team of the Year submission that led to the commendation in this category focused on the firm’s role advising Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. on transformative collaboration to deploy advanced AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia - the world’s first fully optimized edge-to-cloud hybrid AI. The Covington team was led by Joshua Gray and Gabrielle Ohlsen.
