    Laura Richardson is an associate in the Litigation and International Arbitration Practice Group, based in the New York office. Her practice focuses on international and domestic commercial arbitration and related litigation.

    Laura previously worked in the firm’s London and Dubai offices as a trainee solicitor and is admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, as well as in New York. Laura continues to work with colleagues across Covington’s offices to advise clients in a range of industries in complex, international disputes.

    • Counsel for a North American mining company in an ICDR arbitration arising from cost-plus construction, project management, and construction management agreements in connection with the construction of a mining project in Chile and Argentina.
    • Representation of a biopharmaceutical company in a commercial arbitration conducted under the ICC Rules.
    • Representation of two U.S. telecommunications companies in an investment treaty arbitration (ICSID) against Georgia, arising from Georgia’s imprisonment of the companies’ principal and extortion of millions of dollars in exchange for the principal’s release.
    • Advised a Korean energy company in relation to an emissions reduction project funding agreement.
    • Advised a private developer of a megaproject in Saudi Arabia in relation to extensions of time and increased costs claims totaling in excess of SAR 1.4 billion.
    • Representation of a bank in a domestic JAMS arbitration proceeding.
    • Representation of South African-based mobile technology solutions provider in London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) proceedings.
    • Representation of a multinational engineering company in an intellectual property licensing dispute under the JAMS International Arbitration Rules.
    • Representation of an airline in emergency arbitration proceedings before the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).
