BRUSSELS- Law.com International named Covington associates Sam Jungyun Choi and Rosa Oyarzabal to its 2023 Female Rising Stars list, which highlights Europe's “most exceptional up-and-coming female lawyers”.

Sam Jungyun Choi is an associate in the technology regulatory and privacy and cybersecurity group in the Brussels office. Her practice focuses on European data protection law and new policies and legislation relating to innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, online platforms, digital health products and autonomous vehicles. She also advises clients on matters relating to children’s privacy and policy initiatives relating to online safety. Since 2020, Sam has been working pro bono on developing data protection law in Rwanda.

Rosa Oyarzabal is an associate in the firm's European life sciences team. She assists clients across a range of regulatory, legal and procedural matters in the pharmaceutical and food sectors, and her practice focuses on EU and Spanish regulatory advice. In 2022, Rosa led a Covington pro-bono team as part of strategic LGBTQAI+ litigation and delivered her first court pleading, ultimately securing a landmark judgment from the European Court of Justice recognizing the rights of self-employed persons not to be discriminated against for their sexual orientation.
