Neema Sahni Named Among LA's Most Influential Minority Attorneys

LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Business Journal recognized Neema Sahni in its 2020 list of the most influential minority lawyers in Los Angeles. The list recognizes lawyers who are particularly impactful, maintain the highest professional and ethical standards, and contribute to the Los Angeles business and legal community.
In Ms. Sahni's profile, the Business Journal emphasized her deep media industry expertise. Ms. Sahni's profile also focused on a recent pro bono victory for the City of Los Angeles, as co-lead counsel, in the Ninth Circuit against the Department of Justice in a sanctuary cities case. After securing a preliminary injunction preventing the DOJ from imposing the immigration-related conditions, the DOJ appealed the ruling to the Ninth Circuit where Ms. Sahni argued the appeal. The Ninth Circuit affirmed the district court's ruling, agreeing that the DOJ lacked statutory authority to impose the new conditions.
