BTI Names Smith, Sperling, and Topol "Client Service All-Stars"

WASHINGTON—The BTI Consulting Group has named Covington lawyers Andrew Smith, Jonathan Sperling, and Allan Topol to its 2018 “Client Service All-Stars” list, which recognizes “the leaders in superior client service.”
Mr. Smith, based in Washington, advises clients on retail financial services, credit reporting, privacy, technology, and e-commerce issues. He assists banks, non-bank lenders, credit bureaus, technology companies, and their vendors with regulatory compliance, litigation, and transactional matters. Mr. Smith also represents clients before federal and state agencies—particularly the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)—in law enforcement and rulemaking proceedings.
Mr. Sperling, based in New York, focuses on complex business litigation, including contract disputes, securities and M&A litigation, and derivative lawsuits. He heads the firm’s Music Industry practice and has particularly deep experience advising record companies and publishers in disputes over distribution of content through new media. He also has substantial experience handling governmental and internal investigations and advising boards on crisis management.
Mr. Topol, based in Washington, is a civil and criminal litigator, whose emphasis is on water, air, and major hazardous waste enforcement cases, as well as international environmental law and toxic torts. In addition, Mr. Topol has represented clients in IP and commercial litigation, including patent infringement and contract cases.
