Denise Esposito is quoted in The American Lawyer about Covington’s Life Sciences practice and its work during the pandemic. According to Denise, “We have a very mature life sciences practice. We weren't playing catch-up." She added, “There are different pressures in different practice areas, but clients continued to come to us for cohesive advice."
The article states that “Covington saw 50% of its life sciences work allocated to pandemic-related innovations among clients such as Oxford Biomedica, BioNTech and Gilead Sciences. At one point, the firm was hosting weekly COVID-19 task force calls with attorneys specializing in regulatory, litigation and liability, and transactions and M&A expertise.”
As Denise recounts, “I still remember working with Gilead during Super Bowl Sunday to get remdesivir to the population in China," Esposito said. "From that point on, we worked with virtually every company developing therapeutics and vaccines. We also worked intensively on diagnostics."
