Over the weekend, a group of current and former Covington attorneys—including SF associates Lindsey Barnhart, and Ashley Simonsen—and law students at Stanford and Berkeley attended the National Center for Lesbian Rights Anniversary Celebration in San Francisco.
At dinner we were treated to inspiring speeches from this year’s honorees, including Ryland Whittington, a four-year-old transgender boy whose ability to rock a tux was almost as impressive as his courageous coming out story, and the co-founders of Black Lives Matter, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Kahn-Cullors, and Opal Tometi (who are also Covington pro bono clients). Additionally, Hillary Clinton made a special video appearance to commend NCLR on its achievements and congratulate executive director Kate Kendell on 20 years at the helm of the organization. After dinner, Team Covington hit the dance floor and the photo booth to continue the celebration.
We were proud to represent Covington in supporting this fantastic organization. Pictures below!
