Please join us for a webinar on Navigating Potential Anti-DEI Enforcement. In his first week in office, President Trump issued EO 14173, "Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity", which requires federal contractors to certify that they do not operate any programs promoting DEI that violate federal anti-discrimination laws under threat of False Claims Act liability. The EO also directs agency heads and the Attorney General to take steps to encourage the private sector to end "illegal DEI" practices and to submit a report within 120 days (by May 21) identifying "the most egregious and discriminatory DEI practitioners" and up to nine private sector entities per agency for "civil compliance investigations".
With the fast-approaching deadline for the Attorney General's report, increased scrutiny, and potential investigations on the horizon, understanding the current landscape is important for businesses across all industries, especially those that contract with, or otherwise submit claims for payment to, the federal government.
This webinar will address potential enforcement associated with the Trump Administration's EO, focusing on topics such as:
Overview of the FCA and how it may be enforced in connection with
EO 14173.
Strategies to mitigate risk and prepare for scrutiny, litigation, or enforcement actionsProactive and effective preparation to mitigate risk in the event that your organization is targeted for a civil or criminal government investigation.
