- AI & Robotics in the Workplace – Carolyn Rashby and Anna Oberschelp de Meneses will identify key considerations for companies implementing AI tools in the workplace as companies are automating more parts of their businesses. They will focus on both the U.S. perspective and the EU AI Act, and briefly discuss essential compliance factors and best practices.
- Product Safety, Product Liability & Risks – Joshua González and Daniel Auten will discuss key considerations for product safety and product liability in robotics. Their discussion will focus on the risks involved, as well as practical tips and best practices that companies may employ to mitigate legal exposure.
- Navigating Robotics in Highly Regulated Industries – Sarah Cowlishaw and Matt Shapanka will explore the U.S. and EU regulatory landscape for robotics. Their focus will be on considerations for robotics deployed in the life sciences sector, including impact of legislative developments, such as the EU AI Act; U.S. federal and state developments in connected and autonomous vehicle legislation and regulation; and the impact of U.S. national security regulations, including the Commerce Department’s Connected Vehicles rule, on autonomous mobility.
- Challenges & Solutions for Supply Chain & Trade Controls – Steve Bartenstein and Emanuel Ghebregergis will discuss recent trade controls developments and related challenges for AI and robotics supply chains from both a U.S. and EU perspective, including restrictions imposed by the U.S. government in order to protect U.S. national security and foreign policy interests. They will also discuss compliance and risk mitigation strategies that companies can implement to navigate this ever-changing landscape.
Industry Spotlight
Casey Campbell, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at Figure AI Inc. will discuss Figure’s ongoing efforts to bring the world’s first commercially viable, general purpose humanoid robot to life in a conversation with Covington Technology Partner Nick Evoy.
