Rachelle Waxman Sacks is a Special Counsel in the global Insurance Practice Group, based in Covington’s London office.
Rachelle specialises in acting for policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes. She has acted for policyholders on claims under a wide range policy classes including, professional indemnity, public liability, cyber, tech errors and omissions, D&O, property damage and business interruption, W&I and trade credit. The claims often have a cross-border element, which means Rachelle regularly works with counsel and experts in other jurisdictions.
Rachelle also advises clients on the development of policy wordings, and related global insurance and risk management issues. In particular, alongside our cross-practice global Cybersecurity team, Rachelle advises clients on the insurance coverage aspects of cybersecurity incident response, as well as cybersecurity preparedness.
Rachelle is experienced in dealing with disputes in the English courts, arbitration, ADR, internal and regulatory investigations.
Rachelle has a particular interest in emerging and developing risks – such as PFAS / “forever chemicals” litigation and AI / emerging technology risks – and the associated coverage issues affecting policyholders across industries such Construction, Consumer Brands, Energy, Entertainment, Hospitality & Retail, Financial Institutions, Life Sciences, Manufacturing and Technology.
