    Working with emerging and leading companies on intellectual property and appellate issues, Ashley Winkler handles all steps of patent litigation cases from inception through trial and on appeal.

    With experience in a variety of technologies, Ashley relies on her chemistry background and specializes in pharmaceutical and life science matters.

    Ashley served as a law clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge Sharon Prost of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit prior to joining the firm. Before law school, Ashley was awarded a Fulbright grant and worked in Santander, Spain.

    Ashley also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in a variety of criminal and civil matters. Among other pro bono matters, Ashley represented a criminal defendant in Maryland state court, including successfully arguing for the exclusion of certain evidence and first-chairing trial from voir dire to closing arguments.

    • Represented a pioneer pharmaceutical company in Hatch-Waxman litigation related to a topical dermatology product in the District of Delaware.
    • Represented a technology company in providing post-trial advice and appeal analysis.
    • Represented a biotechnology company in a Section 337 proceeding before the U.S. International Trade Commission.
    • Represented a pharmaceutical company in IPR proceedings before the PTAB and on appeal at the Federal Circuit related to a topical anti-fungal product.
    • Advises clients on litigation strategy related to patent protection.
