Zeger Vercouteren advises multinational companies on EU government affairs, regulatory strategy, and public policy, with a particular focus on helping clients navigate complex European or Multi-lateral legislative and regulatory environments. He brings decades of experience working at the intersection of law, policy, and business, and is recognized for his pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to engaging with EU institutions, MLO and stakeholders. Drawing on deep institutional knowledge and extensive networks, Zeger helps clients anticipate regulatory and market access developments, manage risk, and advance their strategic objectives in Europe.
Zeger, a non-lawyer, regularly counsels leading global companies on EU legislative and regulatory initiatives affecting the life sciences, healthcare, and consumer-health products sectors. His work includes designing and implementing EU public affairs strategies; advising on regulatory advocacy and stakeholder engagement; monitoring and analyzing EU policy and legislative developments; and supporting clients in managing complex, often sensitive, regulatory and governmental issues impacting R&D, commercial, supply chain and corporate matters. He works closely with in house legal, compliance, and government affairs and policy teams, as well as senior business leadership.
Before joining the firm, Zeger held senior in house government affairs and policy roles at global companies and as executive or chair of the Board of Industry associations, where he led European public policy and regulatory engagement on a wide range of issues. His prior experience provides him with a client side perspective and a strong understanding of how regulatory and other policy developments translate into operational and commercial impact.
