Shannon R. Tucker

Shannon Tucker's practice focuses on high-stakes complex civil litigation, with particular emphasis on insurance coverage disputes.

Shannon has substantive experience representing clients in all stages of litigation, including:

• dispositive motions;
• fact and expert discovery;
• summary judgment;
• trial; and
• appeals.

Shannon has first-chaired several fact and expert depositions, assisted in successfully representing a corporate policyholder in a jury trial, and counseled clients to favorable pre-litigation settlements for high-value, complex claims. In addition, Shannon maintains an active pro bono practice, which includes the successful representation of a veteran before the U.S. Court of Appeal for Veterans Claims, and the successful representation of caregivers and kin seeking adoption, guardianship, or custody of D.C. children in the abuse and neglect system.

Shannon has valuable trial litigation and appellate experience both in private practice and as a law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has been named a Washington DC Super Lawyers "Rising Star" from 2018 through 2025.
