Alex Thomson

Alex Thomson is an associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office and a member of the Congressional Investigations, Public Policy, and White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Groups. He advises clients responding to high-profile investigations before Congress and the Department of Justice that entail significant legal and reputational risks. He also conducts internal corporate investigations and civil rights audits, and counsels clients on public policy strategies navigating Congress and the Executive Branch.

Alex has a robust pro bono practice where he works to defend voting rights and combat election subversion and partisan gerrymandering efforts.

Prior to joining Covington, Alex served as a Law Clerk to the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, and was a fundraiser for the Jewish Federation of Boston. Alex also has served on national finance committees for two presidential campaigns.
