Emily Ranger-Murdock

Advising clients on a broad range of distribution methods from satellite to OTT, Emily Ranger-Murdock represents entertainment companies and television networks in connection with the licensing and distribution of their content.

Emily has drafted and negotiated distribution contracts that encompass a variety of business models, including traditional subscription linear, video-on-demand, and ad-supported.

Prior to joining the firm, Emily was a judicial extern for Hon. Kim McClane Wardlaw of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and advised independent documentary filmmakers on production and copyright matters as a Student Practitioner at UCLA School of Law's Documentary Film Legal Clinic. Prior to law school, Emily worked in research and production on preschool television shows at Nickelodeon, and subsequently was an owner/operator of a restaurant where she developed a deep understanding of business needs from a client's perspective.
