Raj Paul is an associate in the firm's Washington, DC office. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling. He has represented clients in patent litigation disputes involving a variety of complex technologies, including mobile communications, data storage technologies, application software, and mechanical devices. Having participated on multiple trial teams, his experience includes developing overall theories on patent infringement, validity, and claim construction for both Plaintiffs and Defendants, working with experts to develop reports and prepare for deposition and trial testimony, taking and defending depositions, and drafting discovery motions and trial briefs. Mr. Paul also has experience in IPR proceedings before the patent office, and advising clients on cross-border patent portfolio acquisition opportunities.

  • Represented client in patent litigation suit involving semiconductor chip packaging in the District of Delaware.

  • Counseled client regarding potential acquisition opportunities for patent portfolios related to wireless communications.

Pro Bono

  • Won cancellation of immigration removal proceedings on behalf of client with a developmentally disabled, U.S. citizen daughter, following direct examinations of client and a key witness during an immigration court hearing. 
  • Won a fully favorable decision awarding disability benefits from the Social Security Administration, following a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge, on behalf of client suffering from a variety of mental and physical impairments.
  • Represented client in an immigration appeal before the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
