BOSTON—Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly has named Megan Gates, a partner in Covington’s Boston office, to the 2026 Circle of Excellence as part of its Top Women of Law Awards. The Top Women of Law Awards recognize exceptional women attorneys across Massachusetts who have distinguished themselves as leaders, innovators, advocates, mentors, and trailblazers within the legal profession. The Circle of Excellence honors lawyers who have previously been recognized as Top Women of Law and who continue to demonstrate outstanding professional achievement, leadership, and service to the legal community.
Megan is a leading capital markets, securities, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions lawyer with more than 30 years of experience advising public companies and late-stage private companies, particularly in the life sciences and biotechnology industries. She counsels clients on capital-raising transactions, SEC reporting and disclosure obligations, corporate governance matters, securities law compliance, and strategic M&A transactions.
In addition to her legal practice, Megan is widely recognized for her leadership and service within the Boston legal and nonprofit communities. She was recently named Chair of the Board of Directors of Pine Street Inn, one of New England’s leading organizations addressing homelessness. She previously served as President of the Boston Bar Foundation, where she helped advance initiatives supporting access to justice and legal services throughout Massachusetts.
The Top Women in Law Awards is scheduled to take place on November 5, 2026 at the Boston Marriott Newton.
