    Kwan Kim is an associate in the International Trade Practice Group who regularly advises clients on the application of international trade controls, including economic sanctions and export controls laws and regulations administered by the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury. He also has experience representing clients in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission, as well as related litigation before the U.S. Court of International Trade.

    Trade Controls Matters

    • Advises companies on compliance with U.S. economic sanctions against Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, and Venezuela.
    • Assists clients in obtaining Commerce Department Bureau of Industry and Security (“BIS”) licensing to transact with restricted parties.
    • Advises clients on their trade controls compliance policies and procedures.

    Trade Remedy and Tariff Proceedings

    • Represents multinational companies in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations before the International Trade Commission and the Department of Commerce, as well as related litigation before the Court of International Trade.
    • Prepares requests for exclusions from Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.
