Rob Hunziker focuses on copyright and trademark counseling, prosecution, and litigation. Mr. Hunziker routinely represents clients in trademark litigation before federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, conducts worldwide intellectual property due diligence, and advises clients about how best to protect their intellectual property in negotiations and enforcement efforts.

  • Provided trademark counsel to the underwriters in a $144 million global offering of ordinary shares and ADSs of ERYTECH Pharma S.A., a France-based company developing therapies for rare forms of cancer and orphan diseases using a novel technology to encapsulate therapeutic drug substances inside red blood cells.
  • Represent a global manufacturer and seller of spirits in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.    
  • Serve as counsel for the Public Broadcasting Service and its member stations in litigation before the Copyright Royalty Board relating to the distribution of statutory copyright royalties.
  • Assisted in the drafting of an amicus brief on behalf of the Copyright Alliance, supporting copyright protections for authors, composers, journalists, filmmakers, artists, and other creative individuals and small businesses.
  • Represented a client in the automobile industry through the investigation and litigation of a trademark matter before reaching a successful settlement on the eve of trial.
  • Attained a withdrawal with prejudice shortly after commencing discovery for an opposition filed against a client’s trademark application before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Pro Bono

  • Assisted a prominent animal welfare organization in shutting down counterfeit webpages aimed at diverting donations from the organization’s annual charity event.
  • Guided a children’s advocacy and educational organization in IP negotiations with a former affiliate.
  • Obtained federal trademark registrations for a global sustainability organization. 
  • Achieved a remand order from the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims over the denial of a Coast Guard veteran’s benefits.
  • Helped a young artist secure trademark and copyright protections for the cornerstone properties of a planned comic book company.
