Charles J. Hamilton, III ("Chas") leads high-profile white collar, compliance, and workplace culture matters for clients in the technology, public utilities, professional services, healthcare, and sports and entertainment industries.
As a member of the firm's White Collar Defense and Investigations practice, Chas represents clients in response to inquiries from, and actions commenced by federal regulators, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Offices of the United States Attorneys. In connection with these matters, Chas works with in-house counsel to develop a comprehensive strategy for response, including through the planning and execution of internal investigations, development of presentations, and drafting of white papers. Chas also assists clients in matters related to compliance, including in proactive and reactive forensic reviews of their compliance programs, and counseling on best practices.
As a member of the firm's Institutional Culture and Social Responsibility (ICSR) practice, Chas partners with board and organizational leaders to address workplace culture, diversity, equity and inclusion, civil rights, and anti-discrimination issues, as well as related matters involving sensitive and reputational issues. Within the ICSR practice, Chas has experience leading focused reviews resulting in public reporting, including civil rights and racial equity assessments.
Chas also maintains an active pro bono practice, focused, principally, on asylum and housing matters.
