Mr. Greszler’s persistence and tenacity in litigation has helped his clients recover hundreds-of-millions of dollars for underlying asbestos, pharmaceutical, and other mass tort claims, as well as for environmental clean-up costs, securities and other claims arising under directors’ and officers’ policies, property damage, business interruption, and insurance claims arising under fidelity bonds. He has extensive experience representing policyholders before federal, state, and international courts in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, petroleum, construction, and financial services.
Mr. Greszler consistently seeks to provide a high value for his clients through pragmatic case management and an understanding of the practical considerations affecting insurance coverage disputes. In addition to his active litigation practice in trial and appellate courts, he also has substantial experience resolving coverage disputes through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution techniques.
In addition to his corporate insurance coverage practice, Mr. Greszler also has a significant pro bono practice. He has provided insurance placement and claim advice to multiple non-profit organizations as well as destitute individuals, has represented criminal defendants through the firm’s partnership with the public defender’s office in Montgomery County, Maryland, and has represented a police shooting victim in civil litigation against the shooting officers and the municipality. For his representation of the police shooting victim, he received Covington’s Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year Award, which is given each year in memory of the late Covington partner, Charles F. C. Ruff.
Prior to joining Covington, Mr. Greszler served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Phyllis A. Kravitch of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
