Based in Covington’s Los Angeles office, Ali is a trial lawyer who has tried cases for leading global businesses across a range of industries including telecommunications, software, medical devices, and biotech. Ali focuses his practice in areas where his technical background is most useful to clients, including patent and trade secret litigation, commercial disputes in the technology and healthcare sectors, enforcement of restrictive covenants for senior executives and scientists, disputes among founders and executives of leading technology and healthcare companies regarding corporate ownership and control, and complex technology licensing disputes.
Carolyn is based in Covington’s San Francisco office and provides business-focused advice and counsel to companies navigating the overlapping maze of federal, state, and local employment requirements. As a senior member of Covington’s Employment Practice Group and Institutional Culture and Social Responsibility initiative, Carolyn has co-led significant investigations into workplace culture and reports of sexual misconduct and workplace harassment, and advises employers on DEI programs and assessments.
