Variety Recognizes Stuart Irvin and Adrian Perry in 2020 Dealmakers Impact Report

NEW YORK / WASHINGTON—Variety has named Stuart Irvin and Adrian Perry to its 2020 Dealmakers Impact Report, recognizing "top negotiators that have kept Hollywood humming."

Mr. Irvin is the founder of Covington’s video games and esports practice and works in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He is an international leader in the field of esports and advises game publishers on a wide range of transactional matters, including league formation and structuring, team sales, intellectual property licensing, loot box and related compliance issues, and overall risk mitigation. Variety notes his role in advising Activision-Blizzard on the formation of an esports league for the game “Call of Duty” and Tencent for an “Honor of Kings” esports league.

Mr. Perry is a partner in Covington’s New York office and serves as co-chair of the firm’s Music Industry practice group. Representing sports leagues and teams, record companies, television programmers, and other entertainment companies, he is helping to shape the future of how content is marketed, distributed, monetized and protected, and is an authority on data collection and licensing. Variety notes his role in advising Central European Media Enterprises in its $2.1 billion sale, Monumental Sports & Entertainment in a sports-betting venture, and Alliance for Lifetime Income’s sponsorship for Rolling Stones concerts.
