Covington Represents Financial Advisor In $1.8 Billion Optical Tech Acquisition

NEW YORK—Covington advised Jefferies LLC as financial advisor to Oclaro, Inc. in its proposed acquisition by Lumentum Holdings Inc. The transaction values Oclaro at approximately $1.8 billion.

Oclaro manufactures and sells optical components and modules for the long-haul, metro, and data center markets, providing solutions for optical networks and high-speed interconnects driving the next wave of streaming video, cloud computing, application virtualization, and other bandwidth-intensive applications.

Lumentum manufactures optical and photonic products enabling optical networking and commercial laser customers worldwide.

The Covington team for the transaction includes Jack Bodner, David Schwartzbaum, John Mei, and Joshua Nulman.
