Covington Lawyers Win Four “Europe Women in Business Law” Awards

LONDON—Euromoney Legal Media Group has selected four Covington lawyers for its annual “Europe Women in Business Law Awards.” The awards honor women in the legal sector across Europe.

The Covington lawyers recognized are:

• Louise Nash, Best in Mergers & Acquisitions. Ms. Nash focuses on M&A and other transactional matters for clients in the consumer brands, technology, and life sciences sectors. Her practice is international in scope, with most transactions on which she advises having a cross-border dimension. Ms. Nash is also a member of the firm’s management committee.

• Morag Peberdy, Best in Patent. Ms. Peberdy advises clients on a broad range of patent and other intellectual property issues in Europe, particularly in the life sciences sector. She advises on patent policy and law reform efforts, patent licensing and tech transfer, and IP issues and counseling connected with M&A, IPOs, VC investments and spin-outs. Ms. Peberdy is also a solicitor advocate and has successfully litigated patent, trademark and trade secret cases in the English High Court, as well as acting in high profile English disputes concerning patent licences.

• Lisa Peets, Best in Copyright. Ms. Peets, leader of the Technology and Media practice in the firm’s London office, has won the award in the Copyright category for six consecutive years. Her practice encompasses regulatory counsel and legislative advocacy. In this context, Ms. Peets has worked closely with leading multinationals in a number of sectors, including some of the world’s best-known technology, media, and life sciences companies, counseling clients on a range of EU law issues.

• Natalie Walter, Best in Capital Markets. Ms. Walter focuses on capital market transactions, including IPOs and equity offerings on the Main and AIM markets of the LSE, as well as other international markets. She advises both corporate issuers and financial institutions covering a range of industries with particular expertise in advising on deals in the life sciences and technology industries.
