BRUSSELS, April 23, 2015 — Covington’s EU Competition practice was named Best Competition and Antitrust Law Firm at the Belgian Legal Awards 2015.
Covington’s team was praised for several successes, including acting for Brabomills, a flour producer, in a cartel investigation, prompting the Brussels Court of Appeal to annul the company’s fine on the basis of groundbreaking double jeopardy arguments. Covington’s "result-oriented approach" and "thorough legal analysis" were hailed by the judges. They noted the team’s “in-depth understanding of the client’s strategy combined with a practical outlook - a rare combination.”
Now in their tenth year, the Belgian Legal Awards are run in association with
Trends magazine and recognise the best legal talent in Belgium. The jury consists of top in-house practitioners across a wide range of industry sectors as well as
Trends’ editorial team. The winners were announced at a gala ceremony in Brussels on April 22, 2015. Attendees included 400 in-house lawyers and private practitioners.
