Covington Advises NFL on DirecTV Deal

WASHINGTON, DC, October 3, 2014 — Covington & Burling represented the National Football League in connection with its recently announced deal to extend DirecTV's exclusive rights to carry NFL Sunday Ticket in a multi-year agreement.

The agreement also extends DirecTV’s rights to stream NFL Sunday Ticket, a package that enables subscribers to view out-of-market Sunday afternoon games, on mobile devices and via broadband. DirecTV also will continue to broadly distribute NFL Network.

The Covington team was led by Doug Gibson and included Kurt Wimmer, Gregg Levy and Adina Lord.
