Covington Named ‘ITC Litigation Firm of the Year’

April 16, 2010

WASHINGTON, DC, April 16, 2010 — Covington & Burling LLP has been named “ITC Litigation Firm of the Year” by Managing Intellectual Property in recognition of the firm’s IP litigation work in the US. The award was presented last night at the Managing Intellectual Property 2010 North American Awards Ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Covington’s IP litigators have appeared in more than sixty-five Section 337 cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission, including some of the largest and most high-profile matters to have come before the ITC. The ITC litigation group, led by partners Maureen Browne, Johnny Chiu, and Sturgis Sobin, has represented companies in numerous industry sectors, including the semiconductor/electronics, software, chemical/life sciences and media/telecom industries, in seeking remedies for unfair practices related to imports into the United States.

Managing Intellectual Property is an international magazine for intellectual property owners. Its annual awards recognize firms worldwide that had an outstanding year in their particular practice or jurisdiction, and are the result of six months of research conducted among IP owners and professionals.
