‘Wide net, big hammer’: ITC proves popular for data centre litigation

Jessica Hill was quoted in a Managing Intellectual Property article examining why the U.S. International Trade Commission is becoming an important venue for patent disputes involving data center technology. Jessica explained that key components such as graphics processing units, memory technology, and networking silicon are largely manufactured outside the United States, making data center supply chains particularly relevant to ITC proceedings.

Jessica also discussed how the ITC’s expedited proceedings and exclusion-order remedy can affect settlement dynamics, deployment schedules, and licensing negotiations. She noted that companies may consider measures such as design-arounds, licenses, or early engagement with intellectual property owners.
