Cory Trio was quoted in an article appearing in The Food Institute summarizing the 2026 Solutions Conference, hosted by the International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) in San Antonio from September 12-15. The conference brought together distributors, suppliers, technology providers, and industry experts to discuss the future of foodservice distribution, with a particular focus on the intersection of technology, workforce development, and regulatory compliance.
Cory was a panelist in a session on how the Make America Healthy Again movement was impacting federal- and state-level regulations and examined how such policies could reshape foodservice distribution.
Speakers highlighted a growing patchwork of ingredient restrictions and ultra-processed food rules that could require distributors to collect more product data, adjust assortments, and closely track where products are sold, potentially increasing supply-chain costs and complexity.
Cory defined the dynamic by noting “it’s really in each state, different sets of requirements that are rolling out,” creating additional compliance complexity for the industry.
