Agentic AI: Emerging Data Protection Challenges Businesses Need to Address

Lexology quoted Covington lawyer Jadzia Pierce in an article on the data protection risks posed by agentic AI, prompted by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) publishing the first regulatory report examining the intersection of data protection and agentic AI.

Jadzia highlighted the novel compliance challenges the technology presents, noting that agentic AI introduces risks including “autonomous decision making, dynamic data flows, and unpredictable third party interactions, all of which challenge the static compliance models that in house teams are used to.”
