If the first batch of IPOs this year fare well on the public markets, “I think that will be a positive factor in encouraging more people to take that leap,” Megan said.

Megan added that she knows of a number of companies preparing for an IPO, and that she’s hoping to see a handful of public offerings between now and February 14, when audited financial statements go stale under U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission rules.

“I would be delighted if it was between two and four” IPOs, she said. We’re not talking about 10, certainly. So it’s not quite back to that level.”
