David Pinsky Discusses Finnish Seizure of Russian Assests on Behalf of Naftogaz on ICTV

David Pinsky’s commentary was included in a segment on Ukrainian network, ICTV, covering Finland’s freezing of Russian assets, including that of Ukraine’s state-owned energy company, Naftogaz, which Covington represents in arbitration proceedings, and which Russia seized during the annexation of Crimea in 2014.  

“Russia has refused to pay the $5 billion they owe Naftogaz, but the example of Finland is that it will show Russia that it will still be forced to pay them. Finland is only one of the jurisdictions where Naftogaz is aggressively pursuing Russian assets. Public proceedings have been issued in the U.S. and UK, as well as other jurisdictions which still remain confidential,” David told ICTV.
