David Fredrickson’s commentary was included in a Compliance Week article covering the Securities and Exchange Commission’s new climate disclosure rule. David discusses the rule, which was two years in the making, and a legal challenge to the rule filed by 10 state attorneys general.

“The rule is probably cursed in not satisfying anyone and not being protected from litigation,” David said. “It’s a clear flag in the ground, though, that climate-related disclosures are important to the SEC.”
