Anne Lee was quoted by The American Lawyer in an article analyzing the recent factors driving the expansion of antitrust practices and the competition between law firms to more aggressively recruit the best ex-government and private-practice talent.
The article cites Covington's recent ex-government hires, which includes Lauren Willard, formerly of the DOJ and Kate Patchen, formerly of the DOJ and most recently, assistant GC of competition at Meta, and Ryan Quillian who was formerly at the FTC. Such additions, Anne said, have driven the practice toward its goal of integration between antitrust competencies.
“All three of them have wide-ranging antitrust experience—litigation, counseling, conduct, merger investigations,” Anne stated. “Kate Patchen also brings the rare asset of antitrust jury trial experience. With both agencies announcing an intent to litigate more cases, we’re expecting clients will be more interested in that experience of taking antitrust cases to trial.”
