Lauren Willard spoke with Global Competition Review regarding her return to Covington as a partner in the firm's antitrust practice.
“I am very proud of the work I have done in the department, where I had the opportunity to work with a fantastic group of very hard-working and very smart lawyers,” Lauren expressed, having spent the past four years with the Antitrust Division as a Department of Justice official.
Anne Lee stated that Lauren would bring not only competition law expertise but also a “valuable perspective” from working on cutting-edge cases. Having a team with “regulatory insights and expertise from both the DOJ and FTC has always been a hallmark of our practice,” Anne added.
Lauren, who worked under both the Trump and the Biden administrations, said this administration’s antitrust stance is more aggressive. “What it means for clients is that they need to be prepared for litigating their case before the judiciary because agencies have made clear they are willing to go to court,” she added.
