Global Competition Review covered Christian Ahlborn’s arrival at Covington as a global antitrust partner in the firm’s Brussel’s office.
“Christian’s hire adds to our capabilities and is an important and exciting part of Covington’s EU growth trajectory,” said Johan Ysewyn, co-chair of Covington’s global Antitrust Practice.
Johan also noted that Christian will be one of the first senior London-based antitrust partners to move from the UK capital to Brussels following Brexit. “Brussels is where the EU law angle and focus lies,” he added. “I’ve always said that when clients come to Brussels for legal support, Covington has to be on their radar."
Thomas Barnett and Anne Lee both commented that Christian’s arrival will significantly strengthen the firm’s ability to guide clients through their most complex antitrust issues that require deep expertise on both sides of the Atlantic. “He is a terrific addition to our existing competition team in Brussels, Frankfurt and London,” they added.
