The National Law Journal highlighted Scott Weidenfeller’s return to Covington as a partner after 12 years holding several positions at the USPTO, including the last four as a vice chief judge of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
“I’m very excited to be back. It’s a great opportunity,” Scott said about his return.
Michael Plimack also commented, saying, “Scott is one of the leading experts in the country in these practice areas. We are delighted to have him back at Covington. The addition of Scott will add a second former PTAB judge to the firm’s deep bench of patent litigators.”
Before he is able to appear before the PTAB again, Scott looks forward to providing strategic advices to clients with matters there. “I really enjoyed that work,” he said.
Returning to Covington will be “something partially new and partially familiar to me,” he said. “I really thought the work Covington does, both when I was here and when I was at the PTO, was of very high caliber.”
