Firms Leveraging Climate Change Know-How To Win Clients

Andrew Jack and Kevin Poloncarz spoke with Law360 about Covington’s creation of an initiative dubbed Sustainability Solutions, which advises clients on how to build sustainable and environmentally conscious strategies. As mentioned in the article, Covington offers a toolkit for general counsels who may want some information about topics ranging from climate change to environmental justice to carbon markets.

Mr. Jack says, “This is responsive to the drive for companies to address climate change and sustainability and ESG issues generally, and it's a fully multidisciplinary initiative, cutting across the entire firm's footprint, over 100 lawyers. We have found it to be effective both for external communications with clients and internal communication with colleagues.”

Mr. Poloncarz says the project evolved to meet client demands. “We are increasingly advising major technology clients on how they can speak to their customers about the climate attributes of their products and services.”
