What is U.S. law firm Covington looking to achieve in Africa?

Timothy Hester appeared on BBC's "Africa Business Report" to discuss the firm's increased focus on Africa with the opening of its Johannesburg office. "We've been focused on Africa for a number of years, and we've been helping clients navigate complex problems in Africa," says Hester. "More recently we had a tremendous opportunity to build a project finance and development team here. We see over time in Africa a very steady demand for infrastructure development on the continent." Hester adds that the team in Johannesburg can also draw on the overall resources and strengths of the firm to address many issues of U.S. and EU law that affect companies that are doing business on the continent.
