Last week, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCEN”) issued a final rule (the “Final Access Rule”) addressing access by authorized recipients to beneficial ownership information collected by FinCEN under the Corporate Transparency Act. The Final Access Rule will govern the ability of law enforcement, regulators, and financial institutions to access the beneficial ownership information collected by FinCEN under BOI reporting requirements that become effective in the new year.
